The Lake at Barston Restaurant is located at the West Midlands Golf Club in Solihull, and is open to the general public. All tables have a view of the 21 acre Barston Lake.
We serve an English Pub & Grill menu with Burgers, Fish, Breakfast & light options, along with Steaks & Grills. The menu served is the same in the Bar & Lounge area, outside under cover in the Bistro, on the patio or on the lawns, or in the Restaurant with traditional waiter service to your table.
We offer traditional home cooked food prepared by our team of professional chefs, using fresh local produce wherever possible. We serve British meats, fresh fish, free range eggs and fresh vegetables.
We have a variety of rooms available for private dining, social functions, charity fundraisers, birthdays and weddings etc. Please ask for details of hiring a room by calling or emailing us;

Weddings & Entertainment
We host weddings including civil ceremonies here, please see our weddings page. We also hold regular dinner & tribute shows which include a 3 course meal, live entertainment and a disco till 1am. Please see the Entertainment page
Sunday lunch
We still serve our popular Sunday lunches in the Restaurant and our Carvery is now back.
We take bookings from 12pm to 3.30pm and tables after that will be able to order from our normal menu.
The Sunday menu varies weekly but we always have a minimum of 4 starters, 3-4 meats with all the trimmings, a vegetarian and vegan option, and at least 4 desserts to choose from.
We have posted a sample menu below to give you an idea of what is available.
The cost is £16.95 for a main course, plus £6.50 for starters or desserts (subject to change at any time)
All tables have a view of the lake due to the 180′ panoramic windows, and the room is flexible enough to book parties of all sizes.
Please note, that we do not allow food or drink to be brought in by customers, but you are welcome to bring a celebration cake, providing all members of the party are having a 3 course meal. We will look after your cake till you need it, serve it to you after your meal, and supply plates, cutlery and napkins.
Functions & Conferences
We are able to hold a variety of functions from sporting dinners, to rotary clubs, school proms, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations and much more. If you are planning any occasion, please get in touch with us and we will let you know what we can offer.

Funerals & Celebration of life
We are able to host wakes for up to 200 people although we are just as well suited for smaller occasions, from 20 or 30 people. Over 80 guests we can offer exclusive use of the Restaurant.
Bar & Lounge
The Spike Bar is adjacent to the Restaurant, still with views of the lawns and the lake. The adjacent Lounge can be booked for parties of up to 24 people and is an ideal room for an informal meeting or group meal.
It makes for a perfect place to meet up with friends for a spot of lunch, a relaxed pint or just for coffee after a stroll around the lake. Visitors are welcome to walk dogs around the lake but according to the countryside laws they must be kept under close control or on a lead in order to protect the abundance of wildlife and ground nesting birds.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Spike Bar, on the lawns, patio and under the cover of the canopies.
Opening Hours
Due to the seasonal nature of the Restaurant, we are open longer hours in the summer than winter.
Our bar is open from 7am everyday for hot, cold & alcoholic beverages, and is open to the general public.
Food opening times Summer (Bar open for drinks 7am every day)
Monday – Thursday – 9am – 8.30pm (last orders for food)
Friday & Saturday 9am – 7.30pm (Tribute shows till late in the Restaurant)
Sunday 8am – 8.30pm (Carvery 12pm – 3.30pm)
The Spike bar is open for drinks from 7am till dark every day (10pm Friday & Saturday) with snacks available
